The invention relates to novel N-pyridyloxyphenylisothioureas of formula I <IMAGE> (I) wherein the substituents R1 are each independently halogen, C1-C3alkyl, a mono- or polyhalogenated C1-C3alkyl group, or -COOR7; R2, R3 and R7 are each independently C1-C5alkyl, with the proviso that R2 and R3 are not simultaneously methyl if R6 is tert-butyl and the substituents R1 are chlorine and/or trifluoromethyl; R4 is hydrogen or methyl; R5 is C1-C6alkyl; R6 is C1-C12alkyl, a mono- or polyhalogenated C1-C12alkyl group, C1-C6alkoxy-C1-C12alkyl, C3-C8cycloalkyl, a mono- or di(C1-C3)alkylated C3-C8cycloalkyl group, C3-C8cycloalkyl-C1-C4-alkyl, or a polycyclic alkyl radical containing 7 to 10 carbon atoms; and n is 0 to 4; to their salts with organic or inorganic acids, to the preparation thereof, to their use in pest control, as well as to pesticidal compositions which contain at least one compound of formula I or an active intermediate. The preferred area of application is the control of pests of animals and plants.
