A work supply magazine (44) containing a stack of printed ciruit boards to be drilled is disposed on one side of the machine, and a work recovery magazine (46) for receiving the drilled printed circuit boards is disposed on the other side. One or more saddles (19), each carrying one or more toolheads and driven by a common saddle motor, are disposed over the table for reciprocating movement in a direction at right angles with the direction of table displacement. Also disposed over the tabel and reciprocably movable in the same direction as the saddle is a carriage carrying a set of work transfer fingers movable up and down into and out of work transfer engagement.
