<p>The control system for a foldable outside rearview mirror for automotive vehicles includes trigger means (35) for outputting a trigger pulse by means of the operation of an actuator (10); timer means (37) for outputting a pulse of a predetermined pulse width; a polarity changing means (36) for reversely switching the drive of an electric motor(20); and a switching means (TR1, TR2, 41 -44) for switching a voltage applied to the electric motor means (51, 52) to erect or fold the rearview mirror. When the actuator (10) is operated, the electric motor(20) is energized in the polarity set by the changing means (36) for a period of time set by the timer means (37) to erect or fold the rearview mirror to a predetermined erected or folded position. Further, when the actuator (10) is operated during the operation of the timer (36), the electric motor(20) is reversed, and the swinging operation of the rearview mirror is immediately reversed.</p> |
