<p>Quaternary ammonium compounds with a possibly long-chained carboxylate or sulfonate or sulphate anion, process for preparing these compounds and for their use as fabric softeners. Said quaternary ammonium compounds contain only one or two long-chained alkyl residues covalently bonded with the nitrogen atom. They are prepared from salts of tertiary amines which are then quaternarized with epoxyalkanes.</p> |
