<p>An electrostatic air filter of the charged media type includes a disposable filter cartridge (23) to which a high voltage power supply (8) is removably attached. The filter can be easily retrofitted into an air duct of an existing air handling system, and includes a safety grounding element which discharges residual charge on the screens of the filter when the power supply is removed. A plurality of the filters, which can be powered by a single power supply, can be connected side by side in tandem to increase the filter area.</p> |
