Conventional subatmospheric-pressure tanks lack mainly: a) good space utilisation; b) great capacity; c) flexibility in tank accommodation; d) flexibility in water-level levellability; e) a ("short-stroke") tank water-level indicator; f) combinable manufacture with other types of tank; g) a good - quick - post-fitting facility in large containers which are already planted; h) a functionally reliable filling technique without movable or compressing elements. This innovation achieves the aim by means of a compact and/or folding subatmospheric-pressure tank (made: blowing process) which works in a similar manner to the siphon principle, the compact tank, as e.g. a cork-granulate (14a) coated tall tank (3) corresponding on the bottom side to the shape of a cultivation pot (rapid exchange and introduction into existing installations). As tank-content indicator, use is made of a flat, limitedly flexible, longitudinally curved, strip-shaped bar (12b rolled bar dimension) which at one end ends on the weighted float (12a) and the other side (12m) of which, after completion of the actual visible semi-circle (12g), is rigidly locked (12j/k). Alternately, in each case on suspension of the subatmospheric pressure in the tank (3), the respective water level (17a) which is present in the tank (3) is indicated (17b; 12c/d/m) in the externally arranged indicator (12). After the respective introduction of the subatmospheric pressure in the tank (3), the indicating visible strip arch (12g) indicates the water level in the large container (1). <IMAGE>
