<p>An adaptor (20; 40; 70; 90) for a hypodermic syringe, devised to render the syringe less readily illicitly re-usable, has an adaptor body (23; 41; 71, 72; 91) with a liquid-flow passage extending through it between a first end for connecting to the syringe and a second end for connecting to a hypodermic needle, and a valve (27; 50; 82, 83; 99), which controls liquid flow through the passage and is irreversibly operable to prevent subsequent liquid flow through the passage. The irreversible operation of the valve may be manual or may be effected automatically by or following discharge of the syringe contents.</p> |
