Herbicidal mixture with a synergistic effect resulting from the combination (a) of a selective herbicide for cereals and (b) of bifenox, characterised in that the selective herbicide for cereals is chosen from benzoic acids containing an imidazolinyl group corresponding to the general formula: <IMAGE> -X is the hydrogen atom or a C1-C3 alkyl radical or a halogen atom, -R1 is a C1-C3 alkyl radical, -R2 is a C1-C3 alkyl or cyclohexyl radical or R1 and R2 taken together with the carbon atom to which they are attached denote a cyclohexyl or methyl cyclohexyl group -R3 is the hydrogen atom, a C1-C12 alkyl radical optionally substituted by a C1-C3 alkoxy radical or a cycloalkyl group or a phenyl group or a furyl group or by one to three halogen atoms, especially chlorine, an alkali metal cation or a quaternary ammonium ion.
