PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid phenol resin composition which can provide a wet friction material excellent in durability when a high-temperature load is applied to the friction material, and is excellent in curability.SOLUTION: The liquid phenol resin composition is provided which is a liquid phenol resin composition for use in impregnation and contains a resol type phenol resin (A) and an aralkyl phenol resin (B), and in which a molar ratio of an aromatic ring having no hydroxyl group to the total of the aromatic rings is 3% or more and 9% or less. The wet friction material is also provided which is formed by impregnating a fiber base material with the liquid phenol resin composition.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
