<p>Control coupling in which, in response to a speed differential between its main rotary members (30, 40), the coupling generates a flow of oil through discharge passages (70), each with a restriction (71) and an outlet which is closable by movement of a valve spool (93) along a chamber (90), e.g. in response to temperature rise detected by a spring (91) made of a shape memory alloy, or responsive to a rod (74) controlled by a solenoid (75). The coupling may be used in the transmission to the second driving axle of a four-wheel drive vehicle.</p> |
