A movable cylinder (16) with a hollow cylinder shaft (22) is coupled to a stationary piston (20) to generate compressed gas. A movable arc contact (14) is fixed to the hollow shaft and engages and disengages a stationary arc contact (12). An insulation nozzle (10) guides the compressed gas between the contacts (12,14) guides the compressed gas between the contacts (12,14), the nozzle comprising an upstream convergent section around the movable contact and a downstream divergent section with an intermediate throat section (32) . The divergent section includes a first annular triangular groove (34) downstream the throat section and second similar groove (36) downstream the first groove.
