Fan unit for vehicle heating system - has socket with adjacent seatings for fan motor and motor control module

The fan unit has an electric motor (2) contained in a sealed housing (7), with a fan wheel (9) attached to the motor output shaft. The motor (2) is fitted to a socket plate (4) which has a second seating (6) for housing the associated motor control module (3). The motor housing (7) and the seating (5) provided by the socket (4) have co-operating locating elements (10, 16) for accurate angular alignment of the motor (2). Pref. the electric motor (2) and the motor control module (3) are electrically coupled via contact fingers (11) fitting into contact clips (12) upon assembly of the module (3) and the motor (2) to the socket (4).
