PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device which can easily release engagement.SOLUTION: When releasing a telescopic lock, a second tooth 65 of a second tooth form formation component 60, which interlocks with rotation of a fastening shaft 21 via an interlock mechanism 70 (a driving member 80 and a connection shaft 90), is separated from a first tooth 41 which is arranged in a column axial direction X. At this time, the second tooth 65 is rotated along an arc locus around a center axis C2 of a support shaft 50, and on the other hand, the support shaft 50 itself is slid in the column axial direction X in a long groove 38 which is provided on an outer jacket. Consequently, a movement locus of the second tooth 65 when releasing engagement has a direction substantially orthogonal to the column axial direction X ( the direction of arrangement of the first tooth 41).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 |
