The invention concerns a method for production of work surfaces made of prefabricated lightweight concrete which can be sawn and nailed and is ready to coat. According to the invention, the method consists in: - a) producing, in the factory, by moulding, starting from a concrete essentially comprising cement and treated wood aggregates, profiles 1 having the shape of the desired work surface; - b) using a tool, such as a wood saw, to cut the said profile, on site, to the desired length, and in then using the said tool to make the opening or openings 4 intended to receive any type of sanitary or laboratory apparatus. <IMAGE>
