PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the manufacture of a spatial light modulator than conventionally possible.SOLUTION: A pixel array 10 has a plurality of pixels 11 arranged in shape of a two-dimensional array. Each pixel 11 has a plurality of spin injection type magnetization inversion elements that are equal in magnetic characteristic to each other but different in cubic volume. The spin injection type magnetization inversion elements are an element whose direction of magnetization is inverted by spin injection. A selective current supply unit 50 selects a pixel 11 and supplies a constant current to the spin injection type magnetization inversion elements of the pixel 11 and thereby inverts its direction of magnetization. The selective current supply unit 50 has a pulse width selection unit 56 for varying the pulse width of the constant current.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
