The invention concerns a ballast weight for attaching to the bottom of pipe lines and cables which is formed of two concrete moulded bodies 1 arranged against the periphery of the pipe or cable, where the cross-section profile of the surface 2 of these which is in contact with the pipe or cable has the shape of a semicircular arc or segment thereof, and connection devices 8 for fastening the moulded bodies 1 to each other around the pipe or cable. To simplify the production technique and to protect the lines mechanically, the bodies 1 are shaped as sleeve sections, that is their wall thickness is several times less and their length is several times greater than their radius of curvature. The invention also concerns a concrete mould for accurate moulding of a workpiece for such a ballast weight. <IMAGE>
