A construction unit for a glass facade for a building has bearing profile beams 1 which can be mounted on the outside of the building to form a facade sub- construction, and glass panes 12 which form the outside of the facade. The glass panes 12 each have, bonded on on the inside at at least their two vertical edges, a support rail 13 which can be positively connected to the profile beams 1. The edges 19 of the glass panes 12 are outwardly bevelled. Arranged in each case in the gaps formed between neighbouring glass panes 12 and in their intersections is an anchoring body 20, 33 which secures the glass panes 12 positively, grips around the bevelled edges 19 of the glass panes 12 and is connected positively and loosenably to the profile beam 1. <IMAGE>
