A set of masks for the one chip microcomputer are producecd. Each mask has regions with patterns for forming pads, a rom and other facilities. A further set of masks is produced for an evaluation chip (1) which is used to evaluate a rom held program for the mass produced chips. The rom patterns from the first set are replaced by patterns (5,6) for interfacing the evaluation chip to an external memory and adding to the first set patterns for second pads (7) and connections (12,13) between the pads and the interface. The second pads surround the first pad array. From the second set, an evaluation chip is fabricated. |
