PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading apparatus which is configured to exchange signals by an FFC and prolongs the lifetime of the FFC.SOLUTION: The image reading apparatus comprises: a scan unit that moves in a length direction of a document; a chassis member; a control part that does not move together with the movement of the scan unit; and an FFC 22 that connects the scan unit and the control part. Further, one end of the FFC 22 is fitted in a portion of the scan unit closer to the chassis member, any other position than the one end is defined as a fixed position that is not moved together with the movement of the scan unit, a range closer to the one end than the fixed position is in parallel with a moving direction of the scan unit, and the FFC is disposed to reach the fixed position while being curved in an U shape. Further, the FFC 22 includes: a transmission part 34 that transmits an electric signal; a shield layer 39 or an impedance control layer 38 that is provided on one side of the FFC; and a PET layer 42 that is provided on the opposite side of the FFC.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8 |
