HMG-CoA reductase-inhibiting compounds of the formula <IMAGE> in which R1 is an optionally substituted alkyl as cycloalkyl radical, R2 is an optionally substituted aryl or heteroaryl radical, R3 is hydrogen or an organic radical, B is O or S, X is -CH2-CH2 or -CH=CH-, A is <IMAGE> R6 is hydrogen or alkyl, and R7 is hydrogen, alkyl, aralkyl, aryl or a cation.
