PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for inspecting a vertical shaft pump, enabling a pump casing to be inspected inexpensively and safely in a short period of time without using a special jig.SOLUTION: The method for inspecting a vertical shaft pump is provided in which: a suction port 1c of a pump casing 1 is immersed in a suction water tank 15 controlled at a certain water level; sound is generated within a lifting pipe 3 or the pump casing 1 at a prescribed sound pressure level; the generated sound is caught at an outside of the pump casing 1; a sound pressure level of the caught sound is measured; and it is determined whether or not a defect is present at the pump casing 1 on the basis of a difference between the measured sound pressure level and a sound pressure level measured in the past under the same condition.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
