The invention relates to a roll-damping device associated with two bodies 1, 2 which can move with respect to one another about an axis of roll 3. The body 1 carries two axes 6, 7 about which there revolve eccentrically pulleys 4, 5 supporting, at their periphery, a loop 8 of wire crossed over into a figure 8 shape, made from fibres of polyamid or aramid resin or glass fibres, under the action of connecting rods 9, 10 actuated by the roll movement of the body 2. The device behaves both like a spring, by virtue of the elasticity of the wire of the loop, and like a damper, by virtue of the friction in the wire of the loop over the perimeter of the pulleys. <IMAGE>
