RECORDING AND REPRODUCING METHOD OF COMPOSITE VIDEO SIGNAL FOR VTR

The method overlaps the side band of FM area of brightness signal on the color signal modulated to the low band when recording the multiplexed video signal, and extracts a first and a second frequency signals from the recorded video signal to detect a first brightness signal from the first frequency region, and second brightness and color signals from the second frequency region so that the horizontal resolution is improved by adding the first and the second brightness signals. The method includes steps: (A) dividing the input video signal into the brightness and colour signals and modulating the brightness signal; (B) modulating the colour signal with low frequency and amplifying the modulated signal to overlap the side band of each signal; and (C) filtering the video high frequency signal picked up from the tape to devide the signal into the modulated brightness signal band and the modulated color signal band.
