The multi-compartment container for recycling household rubbish has an outer receptacle (2) on the top rim (3) of which has hinges or links (4) on one side for attaching a mechanically rigid, plastics flap-cover (8, 9). The opposite side has a clamping-rim for a collector-vehicle. At right angles to the axis of the hinge or link (4) is a partition dividing the rubbish into two compartments. The underside of each compartment lid (8, 9) has a mechanically absorbing wear-resistant, elastic plastic deflector plate (12) which has outwardly sloping conically shaped sides (13). USE/ADVANTAGE - The separate compartments of the refuse container can be emptied into a standard collector-vehicle, without the contents getting mixed.
