The container is for transporting articles to and from industrial centrifuges and washing machines. Each container has a rectangular plan form and has walls with through holes. The container has a sliding lid which fastens to the container. The container is shaped to receive a centrifuge basket containing the articles. The container (1) has a floor support (8) and at least two spring loaded struts (4,5) which old the lid (2) in place. These struts can be moved in their longitudinal direction to enable the floor support (8) to be removed by pushing it against the force of two retaining springs (6,7).
