The invention relates to a cratering weapon intended to damage surfaces with high mechanical strength, such as concrete runways of air fields. These weapons, generally jettisoned at very low altitude from an aircraft, comprise a front part (1) formed of a casing (3) containing an explosive charge (6) and a rear part (2), fixed to the front part (1) by a fastening means (10) and containing a set of modules (14, 16, 20, 23) for ensuring the functioning of the weapon. Some of the modules of the rear part (2) of the weapon, for example a sequencer (14) ensuring the functioning of the various phases of the weapon, and an extension (17) of the propulsion unit (16) of the weapon, which increases the speed of the weapon, are placed in a ring around the front part (1) of the weapon in order to limit the bulk of the weapon while ensuring its effectiveness. <IMAGE>
