The invention relates to an absorbent body for use in diapers or like articles. The invention is characterized in that the ab- sorbent body includes a first layer of fluff, a first superabsorbent mixed i n the fluff layer and having a high degree of cross-link- ing, and in that the absorbent body includes a second layer which contains a second superabsorbent having a higher liquid ab- sorbency than the first superabsorbent.
