A magnetic disk substrate contains Ti as main constituent, and o and A? as additive constituents. A mounts of 0 and A? falls within the range which satisfies 0 ? 0.6, A? ? 4, and 2.50 + A?/3 ? 1 (wt%). The balance consists of Ti and unavoidable impurities.
