The invention relates to the fixing of an optical fibre in front of a laser, with an accuracy between 0.5 and 1 micron. The laser (1) is supported by a substrate (3) and a metal block (5) which includes a side face (6) for reference and for bearing. The optical fibre (2) is passed into a metal sleeve (7). In order to align and fix the fibre onto the block supporting the laser, it is held by a metal support (8) comprising a groove (12) for the sleeve (7) and at least two thin side flanges (13, 14) in contact with the bearing face (6). When maximum coupling is achieved, the flanges (13, 14) are welded to the bearing face (6) by laser welding points (17, 18, 20). Application to optoelectronic modules. <IMAGE>
