<p>A method is provided for enhancing the permeability of the BBB in order to permit the introduction of clinically useful therapeutic agents from the blood stream into the brain and the CSF. The method comprises parenteral injection of purified cell wall or fragments thereof of eubacteria such as Streptococcus pneumoniae, thereby to enhance the uptake of the therapeutic substances into the brain and CSF.</p> |
