<p>A production system performs a cluster control by grouping a plurality of production rules into a plurality of clusters for processing. The system has a control representation part separately from the clusters. In this part, control representation elements representing instructions which specify the clusters to be executed next, or instructions concerning flow control are sequentially arranged in the order of the execution. An instruction to return to the control representation part, instead of an instruction to specify a cluster to be executed next, is described in the action part of the required production rule. Thereby, the processings such as specification of clusters can be performed in order according to the instructions described in the control representation part. Therefore, it is unnecessary that specification of the name of a cluster to be executed next is described in the required action part of every production rule.</p> |
