<p>An antenna tuning system and method are disclosed for use with a tunable receiver (12) coupled to an external antenna (80), where the receiver has a local oscillator (26) whose frequency is a function of the frequency to which the receiver (12) is tuned. The tuning system includes circuitry for receiving the radio frequency emissions from the local oscillator (26), and for determining the frequency of those emissions. From the local oscillator frequency, the frequency to which the receiver (12) is tuned is determined, and the antenna (80) is tuned to match that frequency.</p> |
