<p>The invention relates to a barrier jacket or sealant comprising polymers with average molecular weights between 1,000 and 1,000,000 for application in confined spaces like manifold trunking, junction boxes, clutch casings, cables and the like. It can also be used to maintain pressure compensation. The sealant is a fluid/gel comprising hydrocarbonic wax having average molecular weights of 300-1,000, at least one natural or synthetic hydrocarbonic polymer, and synthetic or highly refined mineral oil being compatible with plastic or rubber material. It has a conductivity of L < 1 mu S/m at 50 DEG C and a density of 0.7-1.0 g/m<3> and a gel strength/viscosity between 4-10 DEG C that prevents it from leaking out of a fissure of 1x5 mm at an overpressure of 5,000-50,000 Pa.</p> |
