The orange-emitting fluorescent material of Ca1-x MgxS:Mn X [x = 0- 0.05; X=Al, Sc, Ga, Y or halogen element is produced by (a) mixing CaCO3, MgSO4, MnSO4 and S with chlorate, nitrate or carbonate of Al, Sc, Ga or Y, and Na2CO3 and NH4Cl as a flux, and (b) firing the mixture under the strong sulfurization atmosphere at 1000-1200 deg.C for 2-4 hr, and slowly cooling it to the room temp.
