The subject matter of the invention is a wind power station, comprising a centrally situated main shaft 1, support arms 2 emerging therefrom, vane surfaces 3 carried by the arms and supported on the arms by swivel shafts 4, which are essentially parallel to the main shaft 1, and a turning mechanism, which is intended for the vane surfaces 3 and which holds the vane surfaces in a suitable angular position in relation to the wind direction. The turning mechanism comprises radial guide arms 5, the radially inner ends 6 of which are designed to follow a positive guide path 7 of given shape, and the outer ends of which engage with the turning element 9 for the vane surfaces. The vane surfaces 3 comprise flaps of a flexible material such as rubber, which are stretched or bent by strong wind or storms so that the effective vane surface area is reduced. <IMAGE>
