The invention concerns a balun comprising two essentially symmetrical conductors 23, 24 approximately a quarter-wavelength long, the ends 23a, 24a of which lying adjacent to each other form balanced ports and the opposite ends of which are connected to earth potential, and a third conductor 25 which lies in the immediate vicinity of the abovementioned conductors and forms an electromagnetic connection with them for at least part of their length, one end of which is unconnected and the opposite end 27 of which forms the unbalanced port of the balun. The invention is characterized in that all the conductors 23, 24, 25, at least for the sections which have the abovementioned electromagnetic connection between them, lie parallel in the same plane as the microstrip conductors on the surface of a dielectric substrate. <IMAGE>
