A thermoplastic moulding compsn. is obtd. by mixing, at 200-320 deg. C for 0.5-30 mins., (A) 2-95.99 pts. wt., w.r.t. A+B+C+D, of a modified polyphenylene ether prepd. from (a1) 70-99.95 wt.% of a polymer with at least 30 wt.% of a polyphenylene ether and at most 70% of a vinyl-aromatic polymer, (a2) 0.5-10% of (a21) a monomer contg. amide gps. and a polymerisable C=C bond, (a22) a monomer contg. lactam gps. and a polymerisable C=C bond, and/or (a23) an alpha,beta-unsatd. dicarbonyl cpd., and (a3) 0-20% of a comonomer which can react with (a) and/or (a2), (B) 2-95.99 pts. wt., w.r.t. A+B+C+D, of a thermoplastic copolymer from (b11) 30-90.9% of an 8-12C vinylaromatic hydrocarbon, (b12) 9-40% of a 3-6C ethylenically unsatd. nitrile monomer, (b13) 0.1-30% of a maleic acid deriv., or a copolymerisable ethylenically unsatd. monomer with (b14) an epoxy gp., (b15) an oxazoline gp., and/or (b16) an OH gp., and (b17) 0-30% of an ethylenically unsatd. monomer copolymerisable with (b11-B16), (C) 2-95.99 pts. wt., w.r.t. A+B+C+D+, of a graft copolymer from 30-90% of a butadiene and/or acrylaterubber with Tg below 0 deg. C as graft backbone, and 70-10% of copolymer (B), prepd. in presence of the graft backbone, as graft sheath, and (D) 0.01-10 pts. w.r.t. A+B+C+D, of a cpd. with at least 2OH, thiol, epoxy and/or amino gps.
