The arrangement detects transparent objects (10) passing along a path (11, 12). Two light barriers (21, 22) are arranged next to each other and transversely w.r.t. the path and a logic circuit combines their output signals. The light barriers are arranged at an acute angle to each other and at least one is a reflex light barrier. An elongated aperture arranged in the light path of at least one barrier on the side remote from the light source is directed towards the associated light source. USE/ADVANTAGE - For detecting and counting bottles to be fed e.g. into labelling machine. High reliability.
