<p>A gel comprising a mixture of grains of seaweed of the species Lithothamnion calcareum or Phymatolithon calcareum together with grains of a seaweed of the brown algae branch, is used for the manufacture of a medicament for treatment of conditions produced by herpes simplex viruses types 1 and 2. The invention also provides a method of treating conditions produced by herpes simplex virus, comprising topical application of the gel.</p> |
