Aerosol prodn. for mist effect useful in theatres etc. - involves evapn. of concentrate contg. water and/or alcohol(s) and polyethylene glycol(s)

A process is claimed for the prodn. of aerosols (I) by evapn. or atomisation of a liq. spray concentrate (II) consisting of mono- or poly-hydric alcohol(s), pref. glycol(s) and/or water. (II) contains 0.1-95 wt.% polyethylene glycol(s) (PEG). The PEG has mol.wt. 150-2500, and consists of at least 2 different PEG's or a single pure PEG. USE/ADVANTAGE - The invention provides a relatively low-energy process for the prodn. of mist-like aerosols (e.g. for protecting plants from frost, producing mist effects in theatres and discotheques etc.), using substances which are non-toxic, non-flammable and not potentially suffocating (contrast prior-art systems using dry ice, combustion engines etc.).
