<p>This invention relates to dispensers for stacks of paper articles. The problem with such dispensers is the need for additional space for the biasing spring which biases the stack of articles toward the dispensing opening. The invention eliminates the need for additional space to accommodate the biasing spring. A paper article dispenser (10) including a housing (12, 14) for storing a stack (16) of paper articles (18) therein and a mechanism (such as a leaf spring) (20) for urging the stack (16) toward an opening (22) in the housing to facilitate removal of one of the paper articles (18) through the opening (22). The spring (20) is configured and positioned to lie substantially flat within the housing when the spring is fully compressed. In another aspect, the base of the housing is constructed with integral, resilient members (102, 104) that bias the stack toward the opening.</p> |
