PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide bond materials and bonded abrasive articles which are capable of facilitating a high-temperature forming process while suppressing the melting and degradation of microcrystalline alumina particles.SOLUTION: An abrasive article comprises an abrasive body having abrasive grains contained within a bond material. The abrasive grains comprise microcrystalline alumina. The bond material comprises less than 1.0 mol% of phosphorous oxide (PO), and a ratio between a total content of sodium oxide [NaO] and a total content of potassium oxide [KO] measured in mol% defined by [KO/NaO] is in the range from 0.5 to 2.2. The bond material comprises a total content of alkali oxide compounds more than 8 mol% and less than 13 mol%. The bond material comprises at least 12 mol% of alumina (AlO). The bond material further comprises silica, and a ratio between a total content of silica (SiO) measured in mol% and a total content of alkali oxide compounds (C) measured in mol% expressed as [C/SiO] is greater than 0.18.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
