The remote control method for checking the trouble of the opposite facsimile set at remote place comprises the following steps: setting a operation start time by the operator and inputting the opposite subscriber number; waiting until operating start time after setting the checking mode appointed by the operator in the case of a facsimile checking instruction for the subscriber; checking whether the subscriber facsimile can be checked or not, after calling the facsimile of the subscriber; transmitting the check demanding data; transmitting the line restoring data after receiving the check result from the subscriber facsimile. This method is useful for decreasing the time loss and cost in the time of after service.
