Crystals of chlorogallium phthalocyanine, having distinct diffraction peaks at (i) 74 DEG , 16.6 DEG , 25.5 DEG and 28.3 DEG , (ii) 6.8 DEG , 17.3 DEG , 23.6 DEG and 26.9 DEG , or (iii) 8.7 to 9.2 DEG , 17.6 DEG , 24.0 DEG , 27.4 DEG and 28.8 DEG of the Bragg angle (2 theta +/-0.2) to a CuK alpha characteristic X-ray; a photoconductive material for electrophotographic photoreceptor comprising the chlorogallium phthalocyanine; and an electrophotographic photoreceptor comprising an electroconductive support having thereon a light-sensitive layer containing at least one or more of chlorogallium phthalocyanine crystals. The electrophotographic photoreceptor has excellent sensitivity and durability.
