The tongs for gripping oven trays and ovenproof dishes have arms (46, 47) with right-angled (50, 48) or triangular gripper-plates whose outer vertical or sloping edges are bent inwards, with each bent edge possessing an inner curve 63). One end of the tongs (43) is forked. Each tong-arm has a lower arm (64) integrated with it and forming together an angle of approx. 110-130 deg. The gripper-plate (50) is welded or soldered under the arm, and has four corners resting on the surface of the tray or dish. The back, middle part and the back top surface of one gripper-plate (48) each have two mirror-image tabs (53, 70). The two tong-arms each have a hook (52; 65). USE/ADVANTAGE - The tongs have two arms and plates which grip under and over the sides of the tray or dish.
