PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an error correction decoding device capable of suppressing deterioration of a decoding property even in the case where a column weight of a check matrix is enlarged for suppressing generation or an error floor.SOLUTION: The error correction decoding device comprises a row arithmetic operation part 33 which executes row arithmetic operation based on a message passing algorithm. The row arithmetic operation part 33 includes: a value detection part 42 for detecting a predetermined number of absolute values in the order starting from a smallest value from among a group of absolute values of a logarithmic prior value ratio {β} to be propagated from a parameter node to a check node; a first table conversion part 43 which uses a conversion table Tto convert the predetermined number of detected absolute values into table conversion values π(MIN) to π(MIN); a multiplier 45 which mutually multiplies the table conversion values; and a second table conversion part 46 which uses a conversion table TBL to convert an output value (z) of the multiplier 45 into a table conversion value φ(z).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
