The generator for a HF surgery has a control for adjusting current, voltage, and power, and a detector (7) for the tissue state in the vicinity of the cutting electrode (8). A time period generator (10) and an electronic rated value generator (9) are also provided. In sequential time intervals (11) on operational mode is selected. The selection uses several operational modes with different purposes. The output (5) of a measuring apparatus (7) is fed to an electronic memory with an electronic evaluator (23), whose output signal (24) is supplied to the electronic rated-value generator, together with the measuring apparatus output. USE/ADVANTAGE - For coagulation TUR etc., with facility of adapting to state of surgery region.
