WIND PROPELLED VELOCIPEDE

An assembly for communicating motive power to a velocipede by the action of wind, comprising a wheeled, supporting frame connected to the velocipede and an airfoil mounted to the velocipede for giving rise to a driving force when the velocipede travels against a head wind. In one embodiment, the airfoil is normally static, however, it can be oriented by the rider of the velocipede relative to the direction of wind for generating maximum thrust. In a second embodiment, a plurality of airfoils form a turbine rotatably mounted on the supporting frame. The motive power generated by the rotary movement of the turbine in communicated to a driving wheel of the velocipede by a transmission system.
