T 6548 PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF MIDDLE DISTILLATES Middle distillates are prepared from a hydrocarbon feed obtained by a Fischer-Tropsch synthesis and comprising a fraction having a boiling point above the boiling point range of the middle distillates, by a process which comprises contacting the said hydrocarbon feed at elevated temperature and pressure in the presence of hydrogen with a catalyst comprising platinum supported on a silica-alumina carrier prepared from an amorphous silica-alumina starting material having a pore volume of at least 1.0 ml/g.
