The method involves using a full-size mock-up or prototype of a vehicle (1). Two vertical rods (3) at the ends (4) of a rear bumper are joined by a horizontal bar (5). A photographic plate (6) for the hologram of this structure (2) is fixed to the rear window (7). The coherent beam from a laser (8) is split (9) into reference and object waves (8R, 8O). The latter is broadened by a lens (10) to cover the entire structure (2). ADVANTAGE - Allows safe visual observation of aid to reversal into restricted spaces, without encumbrance of exposed edges of vehicle.
